About Me
I am a certified Life Coach, Kundalini and Hatha Yoga Teacher, with a BA Hons in Film. I have many years of experience as a creative, and bring this to my Yogic and Life coaching - my experience with acting, coaching acting, writing, teaching writing, directing my own productions, running my own Film acting programs in London, UK. Also many years of an affinity with children, supporting families raising their children in Vancouver, raising my own daughter, and now I am a proud and happy grandmother of a delightful soul.
I have experienced twenty plus years of my own healing and personal development work, I am a survivor and recoverer of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yoga Studies has been central to my healing and personal development. Yoga meaning union with the highest consciousness, where we are all one consciousness, not alone. There has been an indescribable vast leap of growth and change in my own inner and outer world throughout my life. Life has continually invited me to commit bravely to change, to let go of what doesn't work for me, to reach for the unknown aspects of myself and life. This is where the magic of my life lay, and continues to lie.
The strongest tools I have come to know have been powerful and committed searching honesty with self, and finding one's own most appropriate support, in the higher aspects of oneself, and in the wisdom of others.
"Maya is very graceful. She has an amazing sense of humour and she holds a great, gentle space. She is confident, caring and knowledgable. She is a great teacher <3 She, for sure, will elevate others with her wisdom." Yoga West, Vancouver, Canada - 'Home of Kundalini Yoga' - http://www.yogawest.ca
"Maya is kind of magical and has a unique way of seeing possibilities and knowing how to make them happen." Susan Viccars
"Quietly, Maya was in charge of having released the adrenaline in my psyche to act in a zen-mode without doubt or trepidation. Mayas lesson will be well remembered. Thank you Maya." Love Zul.
Maya, philosophically speaking - you were right on the money and many things were clarified in my mind. – Charlie Bewley,Co-Star The Twilight Saga, Eclipse, New Moon, Co-star - Like Crazy - Winner Sundance Film Festival 2011, Grand Jury Prize
Attila Luca, Director discussing Maya’s private coaching sessions with leads and on set coaching sessions with entire cast in his Vancouver shot movie, Seeds - 2010 Festival selection Cannes, Montreal, Raindance, ReelWorld, Rhode Island:
" I mentioned to Maya that these actors can duplicate life brilliantly, the details are correct but it was reproduced. They were not alive. I don’t want life reproduced on the screen. I want life created.
It was this rehearsal period with Maya that gave the closeness needed for emotional revelation with 32 actors. She’s not only superb at her job, but Maya also made an artistic contribution by being in this film. The week before shooting the main actors came in for rehearsal and sparks flew. They were superb. Their characters and the picture took life."
